Where are we going?

To the future of course!

The future your children are preparing for is totally different from the one you or I know now or even the one we prepared for in school and college. Our education- I think half of us would say it prepared us for the future we have and half would say we are doing something totally different than our college education plan. We were kind of at the beginning of what is coming for our own children. 2020 was the catalyst of a shift we can all say we experienced. We live in a new world post that year. We learned many of us could work from home. We were not actually physically needed in the office like we always thought. We leaned more on social media than we ever had before to connect, market, work, and socialize. This sparked minor changes that never went away. They are forever with us now. It’s the future.

We are shifting out of a world run by mega corporations in need of “factory workers” into a world where AI will do most of those tasks and the future generation will be free to do their actual passions. This will be the catalyst for the most creative output in the form of “jobs” we have ever seen on the planet. That is why I say the artists go to Rise. I don’t mean just the painter-I mean all artists, all creatives, all genius minds, they all go here. Who is preparing for the future? Is it your state? No. The state is sitting on good teaching practices from data collected 30 years ago and they aren’t using it. Not even a little bit. Instead, they are sitting in offices, lining their coat pockets with ANOTHER test agency deal to test our kids more. While they put out state standards like they are the beginning and end of it all, I bet they haven’t talked to an actual 5 year old in the last decade much less know your child’s name. While the state is focusing on test taking strategies and insane “standards” to measure fake children that don’t exist, the colleges are focusing on ways to keep you there longer while teaching you as little as possible. I know. My husband is there now finishing a year long program where he is teaching himself the material to pass a state test his instructors have never even taken and don’t know how to prepare him for.

Meanwhile, the entire world as we know it…is shifting. It’s as big as the coming of the railroad. It’s massive, a full shift into a whole new world. Absolutely no one is shifting education to prepare for the new world your children will walk into. Their testing taking strategies will do them no good in the future. Their time spent redoing material in college they have already done in high school will do them no good either. We don’t need to get to know AI and turn classrooms into a tech zone. We don’t need to panic. We don’t need to rush. But we do need to place our children places capable of “time traveling” ahead to grasp the world we will all live in when we get to the future.

Where are we going? The future. What do we need? Our individuality, our gifts, our talents, our creativity, our passions, our art, our compassion, and our humanity. The ONLY tools you need in the future are the ones you have always had at your disposal. You just need to learn how to use them where you are going. ✨
